One evening in June 1984 Frank Zappa signed items passed to him while sitting in the window of The Musical Offering record store on Bancroft Way in Berkeley. The occasion was the Zellerbach Hall presentation of A Zappa Affair, with the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kent Nagano. The program featured the stage premieres of four works: Bob In Dacron/Sad Jane, Mo n Herb’s Vacation, Sinister Footware and Pedro’s Dowry. Kent Nagano and the Kronos Quartet were also present at the signing event, and were photographed.
